Homeschooling

I'm thinking of using the homeschool debate for my position paper. I have homeschooled one of my three children, and next year I will be homeschooling all three. With that being said, my position on the issue would be that I am in favor of it. I hear from people that the main downsides to a homeschool education is the lack of peers, personal realtionships and socialization. The upsides to the homeschool debate are the higher curriculum standards, less student to teacher ratio, and more room for expressing and developing artistic ability and creativity.

With all the negative peer influence, lack of public education funding and poor teacher performance it makes sense for me to have my children learn at home. Learning begins in the home. As a parent, I am my childs first teacher. I have seen the schools fail children and there are other alternatives to education. If done properly, homeschooling can be beneficial and rewarding for the child as well as their parents.
